Lasalette M. Gumban

General Info:

Lasalette M. Gumban is the Youth Program Officer and Trainer of the National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO).  She has spent more than 12 years in the cooperative movement, starting out as Research and Development staff of the Cooperative Education and Development Center or CEDCI, one of the member federations of NATCCO. When CEDCI was merged with NATCCO in 2007, Lasalette became one of the trainers of NATCCO. Since 2007 when NATCCO started the implementation of AFLATOUN Child Social and Financial Education Program, she took on the job in promoting the program.  As of June 2012, after four and a half years of implementation, AFLATOUN is running in 42 cooperatives.   As of June 2012, the program has trained 1,917 teachers and reached 98,000 children, 45,000 are savers in 273 schools in the Philippines. The success of the implementation of AFLATOUN has made Lasalette a much sought after resource speaker in other AFLATOUN implementation. Lasalette participated in the Development Educators Workshop in Bangkok in 2009, making her a member of the Asian Development Educators;  she holds a certificate in Enterprise Development and IT specialization. She is due for thesis in here Masters in Economics to cap her bachelor’s degrees in Commerce major in Economics
