Mr. Ngawang Gyeltshen
Mr. Ngawang Gyeltshen is the Founder and the CEO of Bhutan's first social cooperative, The Youth Social Cooperative. He founded the Cooperative at the age of 19, making him the youngest cooperative leader in Bhutan He is the youngest member of the International Cooperative Alliance - Asia Pacific Youth committee representing the cooperative movement to the international committee. He was the President of Bhutan's first and only student Union, The Student Representative Council where he also played a vital role in its establishment. He is also the recipient of the award of Academic excellence from His Majesty the King of Bhutan. Mr. Ngawang Gyeltshen has studied Theoretical Economics and Management at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific Univeristy in Japan. He was a TEDx speaker and the central focus of his talk was on the importance of Education in Bhutan's international acclaimed developmental philosophy of Gross National Happiness. He is an active advocate of Education reform and sustainable economy. An artist by passion, he has held exhibitions in museums around the world including the Oita Prefectural Arts Museum, Japan.
